PEO provided my group with an exceptional hunting experience. The PEO guides were friendly, engaging and well-prepared. Each guide worked hard to provide my party every opportunity to shoot geese - LOTS of geese. The rental shotguns were clean, well maintained and functioned flawlessly - and we had ample trigger time on each hunt. Likewise, PEO’s layout blinds and decoys were also in excellent condition. The lodging and meal arrangements offered by PEO far surpassed my expectations. The hunter-friendly hotel was clean, accommodating and comfortable. And our meals, each and every one, were delicious. Bottom line: Will I hunt waterfowl in Saskatchewan again - absolutely. Will I book that next hunt with PEO - you betcha!

A bucket list hunt for me and three buddies. Did not disappoint. Great accommodations, food was awesome, and the lodging was excellent. Guides were knowledgeable, energetic, and friendly. Shout out to Cody, Tanner, Nate, and especially the tall drink of water from Wichita, Corbin. Coda and Kodak were great dogs, and totally added to the ambiance. We shot a total of 214 birds in five different hunts, and this was in warm weather conditions. Highly recommend, and we hope to go back again!!

I believe I was the first Australian to hunt with Mike and his great team of guides who I must say are a great bunch of guys they put us on birds every day over the course of the hunt. We were a small group of three so we put our best foot forward and bagged out every hunt on snows, speckled belly and mallards lots of Canada’s which were a bit more cunning but great to see, the dogs worked great retrieving and the boys were fun to be with, this experience is one I will never forget and cherish in hope to come back someday in the future to do it again. So in conclusion if anyone is looking for a great hunt with great people don’t hesitate to call or contact Mike you won’t regret it. For me it was a bit of the unknown what to expect and I was not disappointed. Mike McLane's Prairies Edge is the best prairie outfitter I have worked with. Just finished my fourth (at least) annual hunt with them, and going back next month. The birds are plentiful in the best location in Saskatchewan. The guides are all pros and most are yearly repeats. If you have much experience on the Prairies, you'll know how important this is: the accommodation at the Golden Eagle Lodge is excellent. A super experience all around.

October 2022 - North Battleford Saskatchewan

We hunted ducks and geese 3 days in mid October. The guides know the territory and puts us in good locations twice a day, with enough birds to limit on ducks and have great goose shooting. The retrievers were very good every hunt tho’ one was hooman. Mike’s team had good humor and was always very knowledge as well as punctual. Additionally, the coordination for meals and lodging makes the whole trip painless. I highly recommend Prairie’s Edge for anyone interested in a duck and goose hunt in Canada.

Let me open by saying Mike runs a "Top Shelf" operation. My group hunted Arkansas with numerous outfitters for several years but no more! When it comes to ducks and geese, Prairies Edge is by far my choice. Mike's scouts make a huge difference in knowing where the birds are feeding and roosting. Clean lodging and several nice restaurants to choose from. If you'd like to shoot limits of birds daily, give Mike a call. I'll bet you will be a repeat client like me.

We would like to express our gratitude to you on our experience in October, 2020 with Prairies Edge Outfitters. Myself and five buddies from Southern Manitoba embarked on a nine hour drive to have an experience we hopefully would never forget! And that it was and then some... Our first day was epic and the next were the exact same! Averaging 100 birds a hunt. We are all avid hunters and did not know what to expect. WOW were we amazed! From our guide Kolby and his amazing dog Cliff it is definitely an adventure we will remember for the rest of our lives. We started off as strangers but after the first day we were family. Mike, I can not say enough about how great our experience was with you, your company, and your guides. You and your team went above and beyond every expectation I could have ever had for my first experience hunting in Canada. Your professionalism is second to none in my experience in this industry and it shows in every aspect of your company. Everything from being on time, gun safety, food/restaurant choices, and comfort before, during, and after the hunt.  At this point I am already working on setting up a hunt for next year and trying to get the people and dates together. I will be attempting to come around the last week in September before the full moon but I will know more once I can get more people committed. Hey Mike, Thanks again for an amazing experience. Everything about our tip with you was above and beyond from the hunting to the meals and transportation. Anyone who is serious about waterfowl hunting has Saskatchewan on their bucket list and without fail has very high expectations when they finally get to go. Meeting these expectations has to be a daunting task but you and your team at Prairies Edge Outfitting have it down to a science. In my opinion the key to your success is the scouting and is what sets you apart from other outfitters. The guides are knowledgeable about what birds are in the field, the numbers of birds using the fields and what area of the field to hunt which proves that you guys do your homework. It was a tremendous relief after almost 2 years of planning to have all of our expectations exceeded and became even more apparent when we left. We meet another group in the airport who had almost the opposite experience as us and swore that they would never return to Saskatchewan again, this really opened up our eyes to how lucky we were to have found you. After we told them about our hunt we recommended that they look you up and give you a call as you are a world class outfitter. Hey Mike, Thank you again for a fantastic trip. You, your guides, and scouts are the best. For those that haven't done this trip, it all starts with the scouts, and Mike's guys are fantastic. Lots of birds and opportunities at pretty much whatever you choose to hunt. Equally important to us, we requested a couple of "off the menu" items when booking, and you came through 100% on everything we agreed upon. No quibbling or trying to change things up, it ALL happened just like we discussed. You couldn't have been more professional, accommodating, and an overall cool guy. The hunting, communication, accommodations and meals were all exceptional. Like I told you, we had done one Canada goose hunt a couple years ago. The owner was so dishonest, and ran such a poor operation, I hesitate to even call him an "outfitter". Not only did we have to drive our rental vehicle to the fields because he didn't have enough transportation for the paying hunters, he doesn't even use legitimate guides. He sends his paying hunters out with nothing more than another hunter who he makes a deal with to "guide" in exchange for free hunting. And by the way, this "guide" also hunts alongside the paying customers, and HIS birds count toward the daily limit (reducing the number of birds paying customers can shoot). We almost wrote of Canada for good. Thank goodness we gave it another try with you, I can't tell you how pleased we were with your operation, honesty, and professionalism. It's pretty much a guarantee we will be back to hunt with you again!! I thought that I was checking off something on my bucket list when I first signed up for this hunting trip.  As it turned out, I’m hoping this will be an annual event until the day I die.  I had told my good friend Jim Ingram that I would make all the arrangements and that I was going to try this new guide I was hearing about.  It was also something he had also always wanted to do, and although I had been to Alberta years ago – that trip paled in comparison to Saskatchewan and The Battlefords.  Our guide and owner of Prairies Edge Outfitting, Mike McLane was a fantastic host, knew where the birds were, had  great relationships with the farmers, and worked his butt off for us.  We had three days of the best waterfowl hunting I’ve ever even heard about.  I couldn’t load my gun fast enough – really!  We met some great new friends, limited out , and had the best accommodations and meals one could imagine.  (Breakfast after the hunt: three eggs , three pieces each of ham, bacon, and sausage, and…three giant pancakes.) I hesitate to even write this because Mike is getting such rave reviews by hunters, that I probably will have a difficult time even getting a spot on the list.  It’s only Dec. 2012 – but come to think of it – better make a reservation now.  Thanks Mike, Jim and I will see you next year and will probably bring our sons with us.
